The logo of the Greek Chairmanship
The logo of the Greek Presidency came from a competition in which students of the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communication of the School of Applied Arts and Culture of the University of West Attica participated.
The concept is inspired by Greece, Europe and Man. The logo forms the acronym of the international organization (CoE), also combining the letter G (from Greece) in an abstract creation. The humanitarian symbols refer to the protection of human rights, while at the center of the creation there is Man in the form of the Greek sun.
The Rector and the students who participated in the competition visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 10, 2020, where they were received by the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis.
Mr. Varvitsiotis congratulated the University for its high level and the students for their inspired proposals, adding that “we must trust the young children” and reminding that young people are at the center of the Greek Chairmanship of the Council of Europe, since the central subject of the Chairmanship is “Investing in the Future – Youth Rights”.
